Using Zero Mod Playing Cards

Even though Zero Mod Playing Cards are designed primarily for trick-taking games (such as Hearts, Spades, etc), they can also be used for other standard games, most of which can be played with no modification (although point values may be different). The biggest exception is Blackjack (see below).

Blackjack 25

Blackjack variant created by C. Scott Davis, for use with Zero Mod Playing Cards

Rules

The rules are the same as standard Blackjack, with the following exceptions:

• Remove Jokers.
• Target is 25 (instead of 21).
• Court cards are worth 12 (instead of 10).
• Aces may be 13 or 1 (instead of 11 or 1).

Otherwise play as normal.

Hearts

Hearts variant created by C. Scott Davis, for use with Zero Mod Playing Cards

The object of the game is to avoid taking points.

Rules

The rules are the same as standard Hearts, with the following exceptions:

• There are 15 Hearts (instead of 13).
• Hearts are still worth 1 point each, but the Queen of Spades is worth 15 (instead of 13).
• The total possible number of points is 30 (instead of 26).

Otherwise play as normal.

Other Games

Stand Off (no rule changes required)

Most other games can be played with no modifications to the rules.
