Colour-Enhanced Card Games

Kalosi cards are a modified version of a standard playing card deck, allowing them to also be used to play colour-enhanced versions of traditional card games.

Kalos Klondike (Patience/Solitaire)

This is a variant of standard Klondike Solitaire , specifically designed for use with Kalosi cards.

The object of the game is move all cards to the foundations (Ones).

Rules

The rules are the same as standard Klondike Solitaire, with the following exceptions:

• Remove Jokers.
• Use Ones as foundations (instead of Aces), and Aces as high cards (instead of Kings).
• Each card can only be played if both the colour and suit are different (ie. Q♠ or Q♦ can be played on K♥, but Q♥ [same suit] and Q♣ [same colour] can't be).

In all other respects, the rules are unchanged.

Kalos Rummy

Players may build runs of the same suit or colour. Aces are always high. Ones are low. Jokers may be included or excluded. If included, Jokers may be played as low (below Ones) or high (above Aces), and may be used to form "round-the-corner" runs (for example, Ace-Joker-One).

Scoring

• Court Cards (J,Q,K,A) are 10 points each.
• Number Cards (1-10) are worth face value.
• Jokers have no point value.

Kalos Hearts

Kalos Hearts is a variant of the standard Hearts game, specifically designed for use with Kalosi cards.

The object of the game is to avoid taking points.

Rules

The rules for Kalos Hearts are the same as standard Hearts, except that the 1♣ leads and players must follow the colour that was led, not the suit.

Aces are high and Jokers are low. Jokers may be played as either of their colours.

At the start of play, all cards are dealt out, according to the number of players, as follows:

• 3 players - 20 cards each
• 4 players - 15 cards each
• 5 players - 12 cards each
• 6 players - 10 cards each

At this point, play proceeds the same as with standard Hearts, except that players much follow the colour that was led, not the suit.

Play continues until all tricks have been taken.

Scoring

• Each Heart is worth 1 point.
• Q♠ is worth 15 points.
• The highest possible score is 30 points (15 hearts plus the Queen of Spades).

Kalos Poker

Jokers may be included (as wild cards) or excluded. If Jokers are included, they can be used as any rank and either of their two colours (for example, the Joker of Diamonds may be used as either a red or purple card).

Note: Because flushes are slightly easier to make with Kalosi cards, they rank below straights

• Five of a Kind (only if Jokers are included)
• Straight Flush (by suit or colour)
• Four of a Kind
• Full House
• Straight
• Flush (by suit or colour)
• Three of a Kind
• Two Pair
• One Pair

Kalos Blackjack

Rules

The rules are the same as standard Blackjack, with the following exceptions:

• Remove Jokers.
• Aces are always 11 points and Ones are always 1 point.
• It is possible to bust on the initial hand (if dealt two Aces).

In all other respects, the rules are unchanged.
